android phone, with VLC, frame by frame still grabbing ?

Hello, I hope I'm following the correct protocol to find an answer. Somewhere along the way of taking photos and switching sd memory card between point and shoot digital camera, "video recorder" and my android phone I have mpg videos.
I like frame by frame still grabbing. After installing VLC and finally able to play mpg on VLC. I don't see the capability to play frame by frame to capture stills . With respect to everyone here if I'm not following rules please let me know. Thanks HELP
