How to control what gets into the Media Library?

I just played an mp3 album directly from Dropbox (Android) via VLC (Android).

VLC seemingly imported the whole album into its Media Library, but I didn't like the way it was organized, so I renamed a few tracks. These will not update in VLC, however, leading me to wonder

a) How to ensure VLC is pulling the latest info from Dropbox?

b) How to control what does and doesn't make its way into VLC's Media Library?
