It is extremely frustrating to learn that there is virtually NO known documentation on the detailed operation of VLC for Android/FireTV! The provided Wiki is 99% useless.
That being the case, I'm forced to ask this question here: Once I get to the field that is supposed to allow me to enter an "other" network path for adding media in VLC, what, exactly, is the syntax for entering a Windows SMB network path?
