Metadata for online radio is missing after 1.6.3 update

Recently, VLC for Android on Google Play has been updated to 1.6.3 (not beta)
In it, the current song was no longer shown for the online radios I've tried ("Unknown Author")
So I've downgraded to 1.3.2 and it was shown again
I've tried .m3u files of VGM Radio and RPGamers

Is it a known issue?

I can confirm. VLC for OSX and Linux can detect change of ID3 metadata in the stream, but recent 1.6.x VLC for Android does not. VLC for Android 1.3.2 (revision 8ebcc4b 2015-04-30) does not have this bug.

Device used:
Manufacturer: Samsung

Android version: 4.4.2
VLC version: 1.6.6.1 (revision 8bdd42e 2015-10-23)

Steps to reproduce:
Start VLC for Android. Start VLC for desktop. Mute one of them.
VLC Android: hamburger, Stream, enter "http://23.27.51.2:6699"
VLC Desktop: File, Open Network..., enter the same URL as above.
Check that both have detected the music metadata
Wait for the song to change.
Check titlebar for VLC for desktop, see it changed.
Check statusbar for VLC for Android, see it didn't change.
On VLC for Android, tap the button labeled with the URL of the stream (restart the stream).
See the statusbar for VLC for Android changes to match currently playing song.

It looks like this has been fixed for the main UI, but remains unfixed for the notifications panel in the latest nightly (VLC-Android-1.7.0-20151116-0107-ARMv7.apk)

The stream from http://wfmu.org/wfmu.pls correctly displays the Artist, Title, etc. in the main GUI, but the notification widget in the drop down panel and on the lock screen only display the playlist name. Everything else is marked "Unknown"

Just upgraded VLC for Android to 1.7.0 (rev 5ee9074, 2015-11-30) and I'm seeing updates now for MP3 streams metadata in the VLC UI, Notification panel, and the lockscreen widget for most streams.

But! No updates for Ogg Vorbis streams on VLC for Android, but these do update on VLC for OSX.

Thanks for the fix!
Now, in version 1.7.1 (and 1.7.0 iirc), the radios i've listed show the metadata of the current song, but in the notification it's only after pausing every time the song changes.

Still no updates of metadata for Ogg Vorbis streams on VLC for Android.

Uninstalled VLC for Android, reinstalled VLC for Android version 1.3.2 (rev 8ebcc4b 2015-04-30) and the older version does not have this bug.

1. This is what is shown in VLC for Android 1.3.2 in the notification (correctly):
   [Radio Station]
   [Artist] - [Song Title]
2. This is shown in 1.7.5:
   [Artist] - [Song Title] --> [Radio Station] is not displaying
   "Unknown Artist" - "Unknown Album" --> [Artist] and [Song Title] should be here.
3. I can also confirm that the notification in VLC f. Android 1.7.5 (Revision 5818104 (2016-01-02) ARMv7, compiled by jb@vin) doesn't update on its own. Only, when the stream is started anew.

I have a Fairphone 1 (MT6589 chipset) on Android 4.2.2.
