VLC can't display Chinese subtitles(UTF-16, GB18030) although I've chosen the correct subtitle encoding. I tried converting the subtitles to UTF-8 using iconv but got no luck.
VLC version is VLC-Android-1.2.0-20150327-0104-ARMv7.

It shows nothing for Chinese in most cases. If the Chinese subtitle contain English or numbers, they can be displayed. When I select a GB18030 subtitle, if I set subtitle encoding to UTF-8, VLC shows ???? for every line, if I set encoding correctly(GB18030), it show nothing again.

I tried setting font to Droid Sans Fallback in an ASS file(I have the font in my device) but VLC still couldn't display the subtitles. I can't specify font for SRT file, it probably depends on media player, but VLC for android doesn't seem to allow users to set font like VLC for PC.

Yes i have many sample by bugtracker, with chinese subtitle!! VLC android can not showing!!!
