SD-Card does not get detected by VLC

Yesterday, I got an update for my Motorola Moto G2/Moto G (2014) to Android 5.0.2. Since then the VLC Player does not detect my SD-Card . My File Browser detects it though, I can even play a song if I select it with my File-Browser and play it with the VLC Player. I'd really like to use the VLC Player in the future aswell

On the 21 Feb 2015 I also got the 5.0.2 update on my Motorola Moto G2. The VLC Player has not detected my SD card since the update.

I found a way to play music from my SD card with the VLC Player . If go to settings, then select "dirctory" (the first point, it is called "Verzeichnisse" in german, i am not sure about the translation) you can add the path: "storage/sdcard1". Then reboot VLC and everything works perfect again .

Well, I don't really know what those are and how to get them, and the tutorials seemed to be complicated.. Right now I am a bit busy, so it may take a while

I'm new to smart phones. I've tried the directory solution ,it didn't work for me. Can anyone help ?
