Videos have audio only; no image

VLC suddenly stopped showing any image when playing videos although the audio plays fine. What you see is the same thing you get when playing a music file: the regular audio controls such as play, stop, shuffle etc. and the big traffic cone (as for an audio file that has no album cover).

Can you try with a recent nightly build?

OK sure. Can I just copy the APK from the computer to my phone (with USB) then double-click the APK? Play Store isn't working. Do I need to uninstall the existing version?

You can also download the app on your phone with wifi and you will be able to install it.
