"pulsing" I-frames

With 0.1.4, I have "pulsing" I-frames when playing MP4 video (i.e. visible jump in picture quality every few seconds)
the same files don't exhibit this problem when played with the Samsung S4 mini video player

hw acceleration was off (default)
when on, all is fine
