You can take ARMv7 for both.

Hi there, my first post so hope I am at the right place.

I have a Nexus 7 & 10 both with kitkat and latest vlc beta. Since kitkat 4.4 and latest vlc beta I have sound issues with Any type of media file.
Video is great but the sound just mutes for 2sec every other 10 to 15sec. Got no sound issues with other media players and same files.

Edit: I installed 2 different versions of vlc and noticed I have the same issues. Just FYI

Thank you

Kind regards,
Marco

Reproducable consistent issues while playing high quality video

I noticed, incl. with my Samsung S3, that people complain about some videos which appear saccadated.

If I re-encode any "raw" Full HD video with ffmpeg as libx264 with preset veryslow then, the output video will play saccadated under VLC, while if I use a preset with quality <= slower it plays smoothly on my S3 (Android 4.1.3).

Looking at comment on forums, it seems that the upgrade from Android 4.1.3 to 4.3 worsen the issue.

Regarding UI:
* stupid but how do you jump back or to next track?
I tried some gesture movements such as single or double tab, slide right or left, but they produce other behaviours.

Thanks.

Are you located in the United States? If so, it is not available for your country yet.

Why isn't it available yet for the US?

You should obtain the ARMv7 build: http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/arm ... 4-0119.apk

I have a Motorola DROID Mini (XT 1030) I am unable to download VLC via Google Play. Which APK should I download in order to test properly? I would just try it, but I saw you told someone else to ask first, just to be safe.

Hi all,

I've installed the build "vlc-debug-20131125-0105.apk" on my S3-mini, CM10.2 - (android 4.3.1), just to use it as mp3 player. Everything works fine, but I have one major problem:

if the screen saver starts (in my case after 1min) (with or without short animation) the mp3
playback stops for some milliseconds (approx. 100...200ms). I cannot see this issue using other players.
Enabling/Disabling hardware playback has no effect.
This is bad, because I'm using the device for drum-training ;-) And it is really hard to keep the timing if the music has jitter ...

any chance to fix that ? is there a chance to change/adjust the playback buffers? any other tips for me ?
Thank you in advance!
Sven

What about the other audio outputs?

...other mp3 players (e.g. Apollo) don't have this problem. Other audio sources I have not available.
I enabled logging and found this (retyped):

main audio output: resampling stopped (drift: -1350us)
main audio output: playback too early (-92079): down sampling
main audio output: playback way too early (-127068) playing silence
main audio output: inserting 5603 zeroes

is this helpful ? Of course I'm not able to check if the error occurs exacltly at the time of the lagging music.
But I pressed "stop" immideatly, and it some of the log output looks like the stop - procedure after the problem...

Important to say is also, that a lot of log-output shows that background processes try to load album art and other things - these tasks always fail, because my firewall (ip-tables) blocks everything ...
But the music playback lags only if the screensaver starts.

Thanks for your fast reply...
Sven

Audio output is a preference you can change under "Advanced debugging"

ok, Sorry, I misunderstood:
I tried AudioTrack (Java), AudioTrack (nativ) and OpenSL ES - all have the same issue.

Then it is a bug with the Samsung screensaver app.
