Audio problems in Android KitKat 4.4.1

Postby fprietog » 08 Dec 2013 09:17

Hello, here is a little bug report,

two of the audio drives doesn't works well in KitKat because them produces really nasty cracks every few seconds. The affected audio drivers are "AudioTrack (native)" and "OpenSL ES". The audio driver "AudioTrack (Java)" works well (at least, it seems to).

I've a nexus 4 and a nexus 10, both with Android KitKat 4.4.1. The problem is more noticeable in the nexus 10 while watching any video.

If there is any way to help you to find and solve it (logs, tests, etc) don't hesitate to ask me :-)

Thank you very much and best regards.

No. VLC simply passes data to the Android OS which then passes them to the drivers who finally output sound.

VLC cannot break mobile speakers by itself. You should contact your manufacturer.
