AVI vs MKV, cpu usage & battery life

Postby sunzoomspark » 30 Nov 2013 02:30

Looking for info about which uses more cpu power and/or drains battery faster on mobile devices, viewing mostly 720p video files. Thanks in advance.

Depends on the codec and resolution of each file.

like edwardw has said, it really depends on the codec and resolution of each file but reducing the level of brightness saves battery power on most mobile devices. For example, if you used an ipad on full level of brightness you reduce battery power by half and putting the ipad at half brightness left, doubles the battery power i.e check the macworld.com website.
