Try to purge vlc4android but no luck

Postby Kevinzhy » 06 Nov 2013 08:06

hi guys,

I'm trying to purge vlc4android by disabling some unnecessary modules so I expected that libvlcjni.so would get smaller as well as the apk file. I've disabled many modules in configure.sh however it just does not seem to make much difference.

With the default configur.sh I got a libvlcjni.so of around 11m then it went to around 9m after I disabled live555 and realrtsp. But it's not getting any smaller, exactly the same size :(, though I disabled many other modules. Can anyone pls tell me if I missed anything??

Well, libavcodec occupies a good chunk of space, and removing that will leave you with a fairly useless app...

you can try to use "--enable-small" on contribs, libavcodec will be a bit smaller, but also slower
