Subtitles are usually text files. They do not need to be 'decoded'.

i usually watch animes it has karaoke... i am not talking about .srt files... substation alpha(.ssa)...
it lags in vlc during opening when there is karaoke..... and mxplayer doesnt lag because it uses hw for subtitle decoding....

can vlc have this feature? ...................sry for my english i am not a native speaker

I think it's not hw subtitle decoding, it's the rendering.
Right now vlc blends subtitles in the video before displaying it.
We are aware of that, it should be possible to let the hardware do the blending (like it's done on vlc desktop), but nobody has worked on it for android yet.

The problem is that the Android video output does not support supicture rendering, so it must be blended.
