Well I have to say, that you guys are on the right track.VLC mobile seems to be working on my ZTE BOOST FORCE 4g LTE.
But I wish you would incorporate an EQ in to VLC mobile and maybe even the volume booster,Like the Windows version.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 1 (not 2) from AT&T, the i717. I'm in the US. Which build would you recommend for me?

Thank you for the quick reply!

Question: Why isn't the app being released for the US?

Vlc beta ver. 0.1.2 works on Sgh i337 (galaxy s4 snapdragon model) 32gb unlocked and rooted. However it will only play video (I'm using 1920x1080) in landscape. Hardware acceleration works and the sound quality is amazing.

Everything was fine until the latest update for vlc android. for some strange reason the multi-track audio and subtitle support options were taken away on the latest android beta version.

I was looking into trying VLC for my nook color that I just picked up on cheap from craigslist.

I'm running:
Android version 4.2.2
Kernel 3.0.8-g618764f
ARMv7 rev 2

Is that enough information?

Hey everyone, I have a T989 ( T-Mobile Galaxy S2 ) and the store says that my device is completely incompatible. Do you have a nightly I can test out? I should add I'm running 4.1.2 stock.

When using Korean subtitles that work perfectly fine on my computer (.smi files) on the Android app, it cracks and shows up in a false encoding. This is quite sad because VLC is just the best video player on any device in my opinion and I can't seem to change the encoding or anything. Please show me how to solve this problem or perhaps add some new settings on the app?

You can change the encoding in the preferences.

I installed VLC-debug-20130720-1604.apk (ARMv7 version) from the nightly builds on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 with Android 4.1.2. Generally it seems to work well, but trying to open videos from the "Video" menu causes it to crash. However the same videos can be played by locating them in the file browser and then selecting VLC as the application to launch them or by finding them in the "Directories" menu where they are stored in "Movies", although the progress bar doesn't appear to have a "stop" button (just foward, pause, and reverse) which seems a little odd. This has been the case with m4v, mp4, and flv files, which are all I have tried. Audio files in the Audio folder launch fine (and have a stop button). I'm not sure exactly what information you need or how to get it on the tablet since this is pretty much my first experience with Android, but I'd be happy to supply any information that would help in general debugging.
Overall it seems to be working nicely. Thanks!

This is probably a lot of information that won't actually help, but it's all I can get. (This is still for a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, Android 4.1.2, ARMv7 dual core processor.)

There weren't any log files in the sdcard0 folder, so I enabled "USB debugging" in "Developer options" and set "Select app to be debugged" to "VLC" (the only option other than "None") and relaunched VLC which again crashed while trying to load the video list. At this point there was a "log.txt" file in the root folder, but it didn't contain any text, so I went back into "Developer options" and checked "Wait for debugger" [in launching app] and tried to relaunch VLC. However, this time when I tried to launch VLC it stuck on "Waiting for Debugger - Application VLC (process org.videolan.vlc) is waiting for the debugger to attach." It remained there for over 15 minutes before I selected "Force Close" so I'm not really sure how to get a stacktrace to help with debugging. I'm not sure if the problem is with my device's debugger (I've only had it a few days and I don't have other apps available in the debugging options.) or with the Beta version of VLC, and I don't expect you to troubleshoot something like this since I'm sure you have plenty to do on VLC as it is. If I manage to get a stacktrace I will post it.

Basically, all I can tell you right now is that VLC is crashing while trying to load the list of available videos, but it doesn't have a problem with the audio file list or with actually playing the videos if I don't use the video menu option. I tried video file size down to 1.6 MB (a .mov file, and the smallest video I had) but had the same results. I'm sorry I'm not more help.

Thanks again for putting this app together.

Hello,

Could you please try again with the latest latest ARMv7 Android nightly? Thanks.

I hope this is the right place for this feedback. For a couple months now I've been testing audio on my Galaxy Ace 2 (GT-I810L), listening to a variety of flac and mp3. I have found that audio files with a lot of high-frequency content really crackles and sounds quite bad. This would be for news podcasts with telephone interviews or even some high register instruments (e.g., sax). Additionally, the playback often stutters, especially with larger files, like a podcast. It's occasionally unlistenable and I cannot be sure why some files are better or worse. Anyhow, I'd be happy to dig into this a bit more if it's helpful. I searched the forum and found no similar comments, so I may just have the weirdo phone.
