Question about Beta 0.0.9 (Google Play)

Postby fprietog » 27 Feb 2013 23:29

Hello,

I've just updated VLC beta to version 0.0.9 from Google Play. I have a question. In the Change log you said:
For video, one can now select YV12 output: it should be faster, if it works :)
For older devices, 16-bit output should help display speed.
But I haven't found the way to change it. There is only an Audio Output selection menu, not a Video one...

I'm using a LG Nexus4 with Android 4.2.2.

Thanks and best regards.

Advanced and Chroma
Thank you. Just tested YV12 Output, and it works.

The only video related option that doesn't runs well in my Nexus4 is hardware acceleration; it makes video playing OK but with some photograms lost, very noticeable. So I don't use it and video playing is totally flawless. I wanted to test YV12 Output in order to see if it makes hardware acceleration works better, but no.

No, this is orthogonal. If YV12 works for you, please use it :)

Thanks again. YV12 Outputs works very well (notice that it's shown YUV instead of YV12 in "Force chroma"menu).
