It is available here, but we would much rather prefer you come on this forum and ask us (with information about your device), since it might not be clear what build is best suited for your particular device.

I have a ASUS EEE Pad transformer prime TF201tablet with Android 4.1.1 installed.
Your Beta VLC works fine but it does not see any external SD storage that is fitted to the tablet.

Can you go into Preferences→Root and change it to the SD card?

Got it. Thanks! Works just fine. No crashes yet. Will test with the sample files when I get a chance.

Hello all,

Kind of stumbling in the dark here. I found a build that seems to work on my Motorola Atrix HD, (MB886), ICS 4.0.4, but I'm not exactly sure if that this is the right build for my device. Any help appreciated.

Link to VLC build used:
http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/arm ... -debug.apk

I downloaded the suite of test files and the only one that wouldn't play is the Recital_24bit.flac file. No sound at all and it finishes in about 3 seconds. (Downloaded that file 3 times just to make sure that wasn't the problem.)

Hope this helps.

Mostly-successful testing on LG Viper 4G LTE (aka LG-LS840) ICS 4.0.4 using the ARMv7-neon nightly build. Web streams don’t seem to work (but that could be a proxy issue; I’ll retry at home). Downloaded the test suite; all play except Recital_24bit.flac, and playback stutters with in_to_tree_720p25_3000.mp4.

BTW, gsmarena.com doesn’t list my chipset, but PDAdb.net indicates it’s the Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660.

@Mirage: If you got that much playback you likely have the correct build. You can also download any of the umpteen system info apps to determine which CPU you have & whether it has the Neon extensions.

Hi,

I'm currently using a Ainol Novo 7 Flame and I was wondering which build I should use. I tried all 4 of them and only one worked (armv7-android-tegra2) so I guess that's the one I should be using? If not, let me know.

Specs from the website:
Model: Ainol Novo 7 Flame
CPU: Dual Core AMLogic AML8726-M6 1.5GHz
GPU: Dual Core Mali400
Android 4.0.4

Thanks.

Unfortunately just does title screen with VLC at the top and then quits with "Unfortunately, VLC has stopped."
Is this the right version for sure? Don't want to make a bug report if I've just used the wrong one or something...

I have tested the Beta version on a Samsung Galaxy S2 AT&T.
Audio works great,
Also tried using on a website stream vlc.php embeded using google crome. The website reports that VLC is not installed properly. and the stream does not play.

Aside from testing the samples and submitting the results through the Google Doc, is there any other info that you would need?

I've tried playing 720p videos with VLC and it doesn't seem to be working for me at the moment (video is stuttery and there's video artifacts). The 720p videos work in the native/default video player (MoviePlayer.apk) though.

Thanks.

Did you try enabling hardware decoding in the preferences?
