Hello!
VLC for android works great on all types of local media I've tried but I've run into some problems when streaming, "through" upnp, media from my computer.
I've tried WMP, PS3 Media Server and XBMC, without any transcoding on any of them, to stream video to my Galaxy S2, running the latest Google Play version of VLC (0.0.6).
Most videos play great but some show a weird playback problem, where the video speeds up, freezes then plays normally for a second or two. Sound has no problem and is in sync with the video
when it does play normally. This is not a caching/buffering type of freeze. I've actually not seen it anywere else, kinda reminds me of using automatic frame skip on an emulator.
Here is the codec info from a video that behaves abnormally :
As far as I know, and configured at least on PS3MS, it's not transcoded.
All these videos play normally on the stock player as well as a bunch of other players that offer hardware acceleration.
