How can I disable/enable video on-fly?

I have studied that we can disable/enable video when we open the media file like this:

LibVLC.readMedia(mLocation,novideo);

Can we disable/enable video during playing? Thx!

Unresolved questions/problem:
VLC can not even startup on some phones/ROMs: http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=103416
Some foreign language subtitles show as unreadable codes
Not support seeking for network sharing media files: http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=103121
