Scrolling issues streaming from wi-drive

Okay so I use vlc on my kindle fire and because of a lack of memory, all my video content is stored on a Kingston wi-drive. The issue that I'm experiencing is related to scrolling. I can't seem to scroll/skip ahead while watching/viewing content from the wi-drive. When I play a video that's stored locally on my kindle fire, I'm able to scroll/skip forward between scenes. What could be causing this and is there a fix for it? Thanks in advance for your help in the matter.

I think this is because when you are streaming, the file is sent as a continuous stream to you, not as a seek-able block. This is a general limitation of streaming that I think is not specific to VLC.

So I did a test this weekend with MX player and I was able to scroll through a video streaming from my Wi-Drive. So could it be just the vlc software is not working will with all my related hardware overall to make the feature happen? Thx again in advance for your help.

Yeah I just tested it and it only allows like 2sec scrolling. Thx again for the help.

I just tried it and it does a 2 sec scroll progression, but doesn't show the video progression bar. I'll see if I can capture a video and link it to my youtube to show my issue. Overall I'm loving the app and how simple it is and how clear the picture is while watching my content.
