VLC for Acer Iconia tab A500

Postby brolyfanatic777 » 29 Jun 2012 05:01

Hello all!

when I visited the Videolan.org website today I, as usual shot over to the vlc for android section of the site. I was pleasantly surprised to find that vlc for android had finally made it to beta!!! So I would like to add my device (hopefully, fingers crossed) to the list of supported devices. I have an Acer Iconia tab A500 with a Nvidia tegra 2 dual core cpu @ 1ghz, 1gb of ram, a 16gb rom, running Android version 4.0 ICS. All of that being said, I would love to become actively involved with this beta, VLC media player is one of my favourite pc apps. if you have any specific questions about my device that you feel I might be able to answer, message me.

thanks for all the hard work Devs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim

thank you for the reply orpheus57, I am glad to hear that the CPU of my device is supported. When I tried to download it, however I was told that my country was not supported?

Don't download through Google Play, use http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/and ... -debug.apk

Lol, never mind haha. I had no idea that it was as easy as downloading the file on my device and following the on screen prompt. I'm such a NOOB!
