VLC will stop playing videos from network share

Postby PaHunterGuy » 21 Jan 2023 07:27

So I have 2 Android TVs and several Android HDMI sticks for other TVs I have in the house. VLC has always worked great with my Windows network share until this latest version. Now it plays the video for about 10 min or so then stops and I have to start the video again. It always starts again where it stopped and then runs for about the same amount of time and stops again. I've verified my PC is working fine and I can transfer files back and forth with my computer just fine. It doesn't seem to be a PC or network issue as I can do any other network streaming without issues. I.e. youtube, YouTube TV, prime video, etc. I've tried increasing the network cache up to 1000, same issue. I even reset my network setting on my computer and disabled the anti-virus, just in case, no fix. Since it's across every Android device, I'm guessing it's a bug. Let me know if anyone knows of a solution I can try. It's to the point I just use VLC on the computer to play the media, and that works just fine.

Could you please share some logs? Reproduce the issue and then go to: Settings > Advanced > Debug logs.
To retrieve the logs on Android TV, you should follow this: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.ph ... ck#p509973
Then share the logs with the sharing service you prefer (Google Drive, Dropbox, pastebin...).
