Nice to see another test version :D

Running on Win2kSP4...
1. Right click context menu needs two clicks before the menu displays - happens in both windowed and full screen mode
2. Watching a HD MPEG2-TS video file (1440x1080x50), hangs if Deinterlace mode = Linear is selected with Deinterlace = on

2. I can't reproduce.

And thanks a lot for testing.

2. I can't reproduce.
OK, after a bit more experimenting:

2. Watching any video (e.g. C:\WINNT\clock.avi) will reproduce this on my computer. Full screen mode is a prerequisite (doesn't happen in windowed mode). Deinterlace mode = Linear is selected with Deinterlace = on => VLC exits full screen mode then hangs. Process Explorer shows the following call stack for thread "vlc.exe+0x1110" (not sure if this info is relevant or helpful?):

Code: Select all

ntoskrnl.exe!KiSwapThread+0x1b1 ntoskrnl.exe!KeWaitForSingleObject+0x1a3 ntoskrnl.exe!KiSuspendThread+0x29 ntoskrnl.exe!KiSystemService+0xc9 ntdll.dll!ZwWaitForSingleObject+0xb KERNEL32.dll!WaitForSingleObjectEx+0x71 libvlccore.dll!vlc_cond_wait+0x4c vlc.exe+0x2269 vlc.exe+0x10b4 vlc.exe+0x1128 KERNEL32.dll!BaseProcessStart+0x3d

Hi folks !

I compiled vlc on Fedora 12 x64. Videos work correctly but I have no sound at all.
Here is the output :

Code: Select all

[0x7f49d8c051f8] oss audio output error: cannot open audio device (/dev/dsp) [0x7f49d8c051f8] main audio output error: couldn't find a filter for the conversion [0x7f49d8c051f8] main audio output error: couldn't create audio output pipeline
I tried in root but vlc said it's a bad idea

@manudwarf: you probably need alsa or pulse output.

Hi

Running on WinXP SP2

1/ Can't open any file located on a remote volume with the Média / Ouvrir un fichier... menu :

Code: Select all

main error: cannot open remote file `file://K45/downloads/blah.avi' main info: Did you mean `file:///K45/downloads/blah.avi'?
2/ I'm running a dual monitor configuration. VLC doesn't display any file on the secondary screen. It must be open while it's located on the primary screen, and the display even freezes when its window is then moved to the secondary one. I don't suffer these bugs on 1.0.5.

Rgds

When in full screen mode I cant change the volume with the mouse wheel.

Windows 7 Professional 32-bit

When the mouse cursor is hidden on the video and I rightclick to access the context menu the cursors remains hidden, so that using the context menu becomes quite difficult.

Right-clicking twice for the context menu is not always necessary it seems to work randomly with one click or with two.

When activating deinterlacing (not the automatic mode) or changing deinterlace mode the video stops for a second. The video output seems to be stopped and started again as the vlc cone appears instead of the video.

The video transformation filter (rotate/flip) when activated in the effects dialog does result in a black video.
Noise filter breaks video output, but that might also be due to the low cpu power of the netbook I test vlc on.

Confirmed. This is a regression.

I'm getting something similar when browsing through some menus (e.g. the Audio menu for changing track). The cursor suddenly becomes invisible and I have to click outside of the window or to switch application with Alt+Tab to restore it.

(french > english)
When I enable GPU acceleration, it y of tiny jerks.
(Small precision it there 's on the MKV which is fine.)
When I untick the GPU acceleration, the video is smooth (without stutters)
Me I really do not disable GPU acceleration in vlc, because I need my GPU folding @ home.

Where do you enable/disable Hardware Acceleration? I'm running Ubuntu 10.04 AMD64 and with VLC 1.1-pre from the WebUpd8 PPA. I have an Nvidia 8400GS and the latest proprietary Nvidia drivers, and hw accel works in mplayer (so I know my Linux setup is capable).

By default it's not using acceleration.

thanks, I found it. It's grayed-out so it must not recognize my VDPAU-capable configuration. Is there something I need to add to enable VA API support for Nvidia/VDPAU ?

You need libva and vdpau/vaapi backend.

I have both but vainfo reports, "Trying to open /usr/lib/va/drivers/nvidia_drv_video.so" and then fails.

When I installed this version and checked the box for updating it said there was a new version 2.0.0 which I downloaded but it failed to install. It cancelled and stated that it was improperly signed. Where would this updated file have been stored on my computer?

1) VLC deadlocks (hangs) when exiting VLC in fullscreen mode via the context menu.
2) ProjectM is always a blackscreen even though it can find the .milk files.
3) Ch1 of the Scope visual begins at row 0 instead of at least 1/3 down, ch2 is at the 50% mark.
