Green Band in GPU acceleration Mode

Postby Tabascal » 17 May 2010 19:16

I am using VLC 1.1 Pre 4

My system Configurations are Intel 9500 with 4GB RAm and Nvidia G8500 Video Card wit 500 GB HDD, Windows VISTA Business Edition, The monitor connected on DVI port

I am noticing a vertical green band in the center while playing .m2ts file using GPU acceleration mode.

This does not happen while playing other video's in the the same mode.

Same here.. I'm also using pre4. I'm running Windows 7 64-bit with a Nvidia GTS 250 and I only get the green band when GPU acceleration is enabled. I didn't have this issue with previous nightly builds of VLC 1.1 (I haven't tried the other pre-release builds though). I should also mention that I'm playing 720p/1080p MKV files -- I installed the nightly builds just so that I could have DXVA (GPU acceleration) support and this is the first build that it hasn't worked! I upgraded to pre4 because it resolves an issue with playing files over the network (which I've confirmed is resolved).

I also tried updating my Nvidia drivers to 197.45 (latest on nvidia.com) and I'm still experiencing the issue.

Please try the latest NB:
http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win ... -win32.exe

It should fix this regression.

Have downloaded and installed the nightly build the green band in .m2ts files are not there. However following was observed:

Using GPU acceleration and "using system codecs " the m2ts file start having pixelization when fast forwarded. This does not have when bot these options are removed.

Pixelization is also observed only with the GPU acceleration mode.

The same observations are true for .mp4 files using GPU accelration and "system codecs"

In addition in mp4 files sometimes there is no audio.

Sometime the application becomes unstable

The pixelization can be expected, I am afraid. It should go away after a second.

No audio in mp4 is worrysome. Can you share a sample?
