I just thought you may like to know I
1) downloaded the file from the link you gave - (2 hrs)
2) renamed it as .mp4 and tried to play it in vlc 0.9.9 - it only played audio - (and it sounded too violent to be dr.who!

I do not have 1.0.0rc4 I only know it worksw in 0.8.6d and 0.9.9
