protocol and transcoding

I am using vs. 1.0.0rc1 and trying to stream live footage from a sony camera using a hauppauge impactVCB card, windows xp 2002 sp2, and am wondering what protocol and transcoding to use for a successfull stream. I tried to stream with rtp using h.264+AAC ts and am not having any luck.Please help
