1.0.0-rc1 performs Google image search for filenames

xp x86 sp3 - though probably not windows specific

When you open the playlist, having started playing a file, vlc will perform a google image search on the file name and other metadata and download the first image it finds as the album art. This should not be done without user permission and should off by default. And why was this "feature" added at all?

Known bug, already reported:
http://trac.videolan.org/vlc/ticket/2506

I do agree that it's a major issue in v1.0.0 and I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed yet since it's working fine in v0.9.x.

The link does not work anymore.
Now I see the following error message:
Error: Invalid Ticket Number

Ticket 2506 does not exist.

The trac (http://trac.videolan.org) was out for maintenance, it's working now and the bug is fixed.

Well, kind of, yes.
