Hi VlC_Freak, I was just about to report this very same issue.

None of the visualizations are functioning via libvlc and the vmem callback interface (libvlc_video_set_callbacks). To restate this; when playing an audio file, the surface remains black in v2.0, whereas in v1.11 the visualization frame would be present.

I never thought someone would use vmem with visualizations. This is probably the side effect of some of the audio or video rework in VLC 2.0. Someone should probably dig into the code (someone that cares about this particular use case, not me).

Bonjour Rémi ;)

i have found that audio-visual=gloom can be used as a arguments when i call libvlc_new and its working but not with libvlc_media_add_option. It is reason for this, and do you thing that in the next version i can be reimplemented ?

if not i will need to re create a new instance of vlc player ever time i play a media to get visualization

Thanks

Video settings cannot be set per item. That's a fundamental design limitation.
