Playback changing to ASCII randomly

Postby xpapax » 06 Jul 2011 16:31

Hi all again,

So this time I've loading my little video playback program onto one of my other computers. Same spec's and setup (I believe) as the last one and I was able to just copy over my java, install vlc and everything runs. But now I'm getting a very odd thing happening; playback will randomly change to ASCII. Its happening during the evening when I'm not around, so I'm not sure if its the computer doing something (screen saver, power management, etc. All of which I tried to turn off) or if VLC is having problems, but when I check it in the morning it will be playing in ASCII.

Does anyone have an idea as to what is happening? Do i need to update something? Change a setting in my computer? Kick it and call it names?

Thanks

ASCII art will be used if none of the better output mechanisms work (and if ASCII art support was compiled-in). You should see explanatory errors in the VLC verbose log.
