DVB-T Programme Selection

Hi,
When using the official VLC app to view DVB-T, all i need to do is enter in the frequency and symbol rate. Then to view the different broadcasts on the same frequency I can go to Playback -> Programme and change to a different channel. E.g. In the UK the BBC is broadcast at 506000Khz, and then all the BBC channels (i.e. BBC news, BBC 3, BBC red button etc) are listed in VLC Plackback -> programme menu and available for selection.
To do the same in libVLC do i really have to specify the programme SSID? Is it possible to just give vlc the dvb-frequency dvb-bandwidth and then use a callback from VLC which tells me what channels it has found under that frequency and then i can tell it which one to use?
Chris
