audio to video conveter

i can just about use the command line to open videolan so apologies in advance for the lack of knowledge and hope this is the right section...

what i'd like to do is press a vinyl record with video encrypted on it (haven't quite worked that bit out) ... play the record through through the audio input, convert it on the fly into video to play in videolan. pressing the record is simple enough but the conversion code is too complicated for me to work out. any advice would be much appreciated.
