Output Directly to Flash Media Live Encoder 3

I am using VLC as a general player/scheduler and would like to send video/audio output from it directly to Flash Media Live Encoder 3,
So far I have done this by outputting video to a capture card on the same PC and from there to Flash Media Live Encoder 3 but this is awkward and introduces an extra conversion I'd rather avoid.
I want Flash Media Live Encoder 3 to recognize VLC output as a 'device'
(Please note my streaming provider does NOT have a way to take a stream from VLC. Only FMLE will work.)
The docs say Flash Media Live Encoder 3 has
>>Support for a wide range of input devices
>> that provide(s) raw video and supports Microsoft DirectShow filters
Is there a way to make VLC output raw video or go through a DirectShow filter to create such an "input device"?
