DVB-T SSIDs?

Hi,
I have successfully managed to get libvlc to work with dvb. However, i need to lookup the SSID of the channel i want to use........is there a function i can call to work out what the SSID's are for a particular frequency? i.e. for the real vlc app, all i need to do is give vlc a frequency and bandwidth, and then it lists of the available channels automaticaty, can i do that with libvlc?
