How use upnp service in command line or implement with libvlc

hey guys
i need to create an upnp client(dlna client actually) in command line(without gui) on linux. how can i use vlc as an upnp client in command line?
if its imposible.. how can i use libvlc to develop a simple upnp client(dlna client)?
