Trouble playing Bluray video with libvlc

On my machine, VLC player properly and smoothly renders Bluray video. On the same machine, however, when I play the same Bluray file in my app built on top of libvlc, the playback is really poor. Are there any settings for libvlc that I'm overlooking, that might cure this problem?

Is it the menu playback or the main menu playback? What OS?

Check the logs in both cases.

Thanks for replying to my question, much appreciated. This is related to rendering a .m2ts file ripped from a Bluray disc, i.e. no menus. The OS is Windows 10. I know the PC has enough horsepower to render the file contents properly, since VLC player is able to render the same file without any issues (and while using less CPU).

I forgot to mention that I'm using version 2.2.6.

One more update: on a whim I upgraded to VLC 3.02 and voila, now everything works as expected. Bluray playback is smooth and CPU consumption has dropped markedly. I guess version 2.2.6 had some issues that were fixed in 3.0.2.

This is just hardware decoding activated by default
