Docker and building VLC

Hi,

I have read on this forum that VideoLAN has some Docker images available. I went to [https://code.videolan.org/videolan/docker-images][/https://code.videolan.org/videolan/docker-images] and tried to use some of them, but I really don't get how to make them work. Are they designed only for the official developers, using Jenkins, or they should work for everyone?

Anyway, for noobs like me, having a Docker image (and a guide on how to use it) would be perfect. Does such thing exist? Because compiling VLC has been a nighmare, I tried to compile it for both Windows and Linux, and after 30 hours I only managed to compile an old version of 3.0 for Debian.

I know is probably not a priority, but this sort of help could encourage new developers like me to help with the proyect.

I believe that documenting Docker is best left to the Docker project. The short-handed VLC developpers have more important things to work on than writing a bad third-party Docker documentation, TBH.

Anybody can use the images but the main goal of those images is reproducible builds, especially for stable updates.
