libvlc MAC OS - libmad error: Huffman data overrun

Postby archjeb » 03 Dec 2016 02:02

Hello folks.

I'm using libvlc with a basic python script to play a file on Mac OS.
In VLC 2.2.2 - it works perfectly. But when I upgrade to 2.2.4 (latest) I get the following errors continuously when playing any mp3:

[0000000100a9f0b8] mpgatofixed32 audio converter error: libmad error: Huffman data overrun
[0000000100a9f0b8] mpgatofixed32 audio converter error: libmad error: Huffman data overrun
[0000000100a9f0b8] mpgatofixed32 audio converter error: libmad error: Huffman data overrun

Additionally, the audio stutters.
Same behavior on El Capitan and Sierra. But when I downgrade VLC to 2.2.2 it works fine. Upgrade to 2.2.4, errors are back.

I didn't see anything specific in the forum with these errors on a simple point release upgrade. Any ideas?

Thanks,

-J

2.2.5 will fix this.
