Compiling VLCKit on OSX 10.9.2

I'm trying to build VLCKit on Mavericks, but it complains about "bootstrap" being missing. Where do I get that?

/Users/jsd/Documents/Xcode/VLCKit/build/VLCKit.build/Debug/Setup VLC contribs.build/Script-633BD6E30D2ADF030012A314.sh: line 11: ./bootstrap: No such file or directory

Can you provide a link? I have not found anything that mentions what bootstrap is or where it comes from.
