Socks proxy with rtsp stream

Postby ianmaciel » 06 Dec 2017 20:18

Hello All,

I've already read a few questions about it here (some of than really old) but all the answers just relate the problem with the fact that SOCKS does not support UDP.

I aware of it, and I intend to use it by TCP (--rtsp-tcp option) but it doesn't work as well. VLC just ignores it and do a direct connection.

We believe this happens because libVLC uses library life555 to stream RTSP and this library does not support it. Am I wrong or missing anything?

To fix it we are about to make a branch of lib live555 and than use the libVLC socks configuration to pass it to lib live555.

So does any one can contribute helping us to get the right way to pass it to lib live555 and every thing else?
Any guidelines would be nice.

Thanks,
Ian Maciel
