Audio extraction Directshow

Hello,

I need some help and advises from some video specialists, used to work with codecs.
I need to do some audio extraction from a video in a c++ application, but I need also to avoid to include codecs(in order to avoid license problems) so I wanted to try directshow because it rely on user codecs.
However it doesn't do seems possible to do so with directshow, maybe someone can confirm me this?
So I wanted to knows what is the best way to do this?
Maybe libVLC can help me on this.
