Recording stream from software using VLCLib?

Postby gigatron2 » 13 Dec 2015 02:38

Hi, I am using some software for TV streaming which is based on VLCLib. I would like to record some video but unfortunately the streaming software doesn't allow me to redirect stream to a file (as VLC does).

I can record network traffic with wireshark but I am not sure if it's possible to convert recorder stream to something playable in VLC player? Or alternatively is there a way to figure out how to stream directly with VLC instead of custom software that's based on VLClib?

Here is the start of stream that I recorded in wireshark. It looks like there is useful data but I can't interpret what it means:

Code: Select all

GET /stream/?[had to delete this part, could be my credentials for this streaming service]&player=http HTTP/1.1 Host: 184.173.146.47:8080 User-Agent: VLC/2.1.6 LibVLC/2.1.6 Range: bytes=0- Connection: close Cookie: redir=[this deleted as well] Icy-MetaData: 1 HTTP/1.1 200 OK Content-Type: application/octet-stream X-MND-Stream-Accepted-Reason: Pre-init 0. Sender get 0. Player start 322. X-MND-Stream-Accepted-On: us2_3
