DirectShow Video Recorder based on VLC

Postby gllima.astus » 05 Oct 2015 16:18

Hello,

I'm thinking in develop a video recorder in order to record videos that I capture with a Avermedia Live Gamer Portable.
I want to use VLC, with libVLC maybe. But I hope someone can help me eith some doubts that I have.

I don't if for my application it's better to:
- customize VLC coding adaptations in C++
- use libVLC and code a brand new videorecorder
- write an VLC module that supports my desired features
- write a plugin that supports my desired features

I want that my recorder support the following features:
1. Record 1080p 50/60 camera direct to a hard drive ou usb stick
2. Burn DVD with the recordings
3. Transfer the recordings to USB sticks
4. Downscale from 1080p to 720p or 480p
5. Take snapshots
6. Real time Preview
7. Custom OSD

Anyone can have some experience with something related to my problem?
Any suggestions?

Warm regards,

playback from DirectShow should be fixed in VLC. So is recording.
Everything else, you should use libVLC.
