re-mapping audio channels in libVLC?

Postby jarrod » 05 Oct 2015 17:54

Hi guys,

I've made an open source note-making application for audio & video courses, however numerous courses I've been going through have awful production quality, often recorded in stereo but sound is only recorded on one of the channels... so I'd love to be able down-mix the audio to mono. I've searched through the forums and have noticed that there's no longer support for setting the audio device to 'Mono' as of VLC 2.1, however I found a thread that mentioned in the GUI you can re-map both 'left' and 'right' channels to center. However, I can't figure out how to do this via libVLC.

Can anyone tell me if it's possible to remap audio channels using libVLC? If it is, can someone post a link or show a code snippet that shows how to do it?

Cheers,
Jarrod

There is so far no support for audio filters via LibVLC. Patch welcome.
