Use different channels for play a sound

Postby Lam » 02 Jul 2013 11:36

Hi, I use libVLC for streaming sound to LAN and playiong a sound from LAN.
I Have 7.1 sound card. May I use all channels for play a different audio streams?

Splitting your card into multiple virtual stereo cards is a task for the audio abstraction layer of the operating system. It won't be easy to configure though (if at all possible).

At VLC level, all you can do is remap the channels manually with the remap audio filter.

Does ecasound help? It has some realtime audio routing features.
