mediacontrol_display_text()of libvlc not displaying any text

hi everyone,
i used the qt wrap up of libvlc (http://wiki.videolan.org/LibVLC_SampleCode_Qt) and could deocde and display the video. my application requires a separate text to be displayed on the screen overlapping the video display.

i used the MediaControl API and tried using the mediacontrol_display_text function to display a text. I tried different combinations of values for begin and end parameters but with no success. I tried looking over the forums but could not really find a solution for this problem.

could someone help me on this issue.

hi any ideas for my problem? i am using libvlc 1.0.2 version on ubuntu 9.10 with qt 4.5 vesion. any help would be nice !!
