Deadlocks

Postby Idsa » 17 Feb 2010 18:03

I'm using libvlc 1.0.3 at my application and sometimes (really I can't figure out the reason) my application is handed. The only reason for that I can see is some deadlock in libvlc. Is this behaviour known? Are there any improvements in this way in 1.0.5?

It should be pretty obvious from the stack trace if the deadlock occurs in LibVLC.

There have been some deadlock bugs in LibVLC. But in many cases, the problem was the application not handling LibVLC events properly, and then deadlocking itself. Do note that events are delivered from LibVLC threads, not from your application event loop.
