IEEE1394 module for VLS

Postby KiYoung » 26 Jan 2004 14:28

We tried to connect a IEEE1394 moduleto to VLS. And we tested the live streamming from IEEE1394 using JVC GR-HD1 camera.

From JVC camera to IEEE1394, the stream format is MPEG2-TS. We modified the FileReader module for testing. We used the MicroMv capture source.(http://kino.schirmacher.de/article/view/54/1/11/) It is a source for capture from IEEE1394.

What is your opinion? Is it worth adding the IEEE1394 module to VLS?

As a micromv user i would have to say yes but I doubt if there are that many of us out here so is it worth the effort? I hope you think so!

Hi KiYoung,
Yes I think it is very useful to me, I actually found you source over here
http://netmedia.kjist.ac.kr/research/research3_6.html
and have been trying to compile it under linux (2.6) with no success :(
Of course I can't get the normal VLS to compile either...

But I think what you've done is fantastic, I can only hope to see it work.
