How to stream video and data

Hello,

I have a few questions that I can not find the solution.
We will do in May some live streams of events (max 20-30 viewers).
It will be filmed with a camera (panasonic or a sony) and we have a DSL line (512kb), and we've got a windows2003 server located in a datacenter.

What we want to do is send the sound and movie to the windows server and from there the people can connect with their Windows Media player to view and listen. How should we do this? Can Video Lan do this ?

Same Question from me:

I want to film a service with an
Panasonic NV-GS50 Digital Camcorder

Record it with an Laptop/PC by Firewire

and Stream it at the same Time to a second PC by lan

My Problem is, i cant get the signal of the cam - but the cam is detected by my Windows 2000 - i may catch the picture with another prog, f.i.
Ulead Video STudio 8.0

What may i do

Panasonic NV-GS50 --Firewire (IEEE 1394) --> PC1 --LAN--> PC2

I dont need to record it - only need the Stream!

Thanx a lot for ur help

Cache the content on hard drive, and then stream it via multi-cast (application level). You may need 2 instances of VLC, one for caching, other for streaming, but it will work.
If you are streaming it across the Internet, don't forget to transcode it at the desired bit rate.

Live Stream.

Hi,

And is it also possible to stream live from an IP camera?!

Thanks,

Peter.
