Does Microsoft Media Player work with VLC Streaming Server

I have so Microsoft Media player clips and was wondering if VLS supports MM player clips. Currently when I play them from the VLS server, I get two additiona windows that pop up. The window heading is VLC(hardware YUV DirectX output). Any assistance with changing the encoding of the MM player files or special configuration information would be appreciated. Thanks.
