Adding logo-image and subtitles in streamed video

Hello friends,
I want to add (periodically) logo-image and subtitles in a streamed video (received from live server) with vlc.
But, I don't know if I should do this process in client or server side, because I don't want to create a new video in the server with logo and subtitles?
