I expose my problem :

I would like to put a live webcam on the beach on an event next week, i have a laptop, a webcam and a 128kbps upload connection on the beach. And I'd like to put the live video on my website.

I know if i plan to stream whith this connection a couldn't host a lot of client.
But I have a dedicated Server in a datacenter with full symetric 10Mbps bandwith.

The idea is to send the video flow to the server which will host the clients.

Webcam---Laptop(128kbps)---INTERNET----LINUX DEDICATED SERVER(10Mbps)====Lot of Clients

I'm quite sure I can do that with VLC/VLS

Do you have solutions or routes i could investigate ?
Thank you very much for your help.

sorry for my really english skill

Hello,
I have a webcam MSI StarCam 370i and I use VLC for streaming - UDP multicast + transcoding to DIV3 128 kbps 320x240px on 10Mb network. Works fine.
Use VLC, VLS is unsupported and with VLC you have much more possibilities.

i don't think internet support multicast.
